Small Projects List
Most Donors who hear a "call for finances" seem to envision a big sum and usually believe that the small amount that might be available to the donor will hardly make any impact. This is different at ESSA.In the upcoming months and years, we will publish a number of "Small-Projects" which are desperately needed at ESSA.
The overall amount needed will normally not exceed 2.000 ZAR (200 US $).
By contributing to these Small-Projects you can actually "see" where your money went and how it made an impact on the lives and circumstances here at ESSA. As you might wish to visit ESSA you will be able to point out and see, what you have been contributing to. In some cases (if you donate all that is needed) it might even be possible to attach a plaque with your name on it.
So come and have a look at the current Small-Projects:
2 Hot Water Geysers
Student
accomodations desperately need 2 new hot-water geysers. Maintenance has
been postponed and spare parts could not be replaced due to the lack of
funds. Now the geysers themselves are falling apart and it is no longer
sufficient to simply replace parts. If these geysers are not replaced
before February, these flats will have no hot-water capabilities.Each geyser will cost approx. 1.000 ZAR (100 US $).

Paint for ceilings
Regular
upkeep has been neglected due to more serious priorities, but in order
to keep ahaead of developing situations and maybe even to avoid a
situation as described with the geysers above, house-keeping wishes to
do what is necessary. One of these issues is paint for the ceilings of
the flats / students accomodation.Paint will cost approx. 500 ZAR (50 US $).

Spare Parts for Students Fridges
4
of the fridges in students accomodation are experiencing
technical difficulties. 3 of them need new Thermostats, while a 4th one
needs a new gas filling. While it seems rather trivial and unimportant,
that is exactly the reason why we have decided to put up these fridges
as a small project. These technical repairs will be cheaper than having
to replace the fridges in the near future. Postponing these repairs -
due to the low priority - will only increase the overall costs at a
later date.Fridge repairs will cost approx. 1.000 ZAR (100 US $).

In the improbable case that more funds are donated than required for the specific projects, the funds will be used for other important and related needs.
